Our classroom was designed to be a very flexible and versatile space.  It has our three classroom tables that can be ready for art activities, small group phonics work, snack time or free choice play centers at the drop of a hat.  It has our very large circle time classroom rug that is perfect for whole group math games, singing songs and reading stories together during circle time, break out partner games during a phonics lesson, a stage during a rhythm sticks music activity and even a vet center for taking care of sick stuffed animals during free choice.  Our students feel so at home in our cozy classroom space.

Our STEAM LAB is full of hands on, student led learning centers.  It is an incredible space for PLAY! We have dramatic play centers, an engaging sensory table, a giant magnetic wall, a block play center and a student favorite: our creative exploration art center!  Our STEAM LAB centers change at least once a month which keeps our learning through play engaging and exciting for our students.  We also follow our students lead for which centers we put out and even create new play centers based off our students interests.  Tiny Roots Preschool is truly rooted in play.

Our students absolutely LOVE being out on our playground! We go out to recess every single day (unless it is raining) and the length of our recess will depend on the temperature outside.  The beginning and end of our school year will have shorter recess times due to heat.  However the middle of the school year is filled with beautiful weather and LOTS of time spent outside.  When the weather is nice we will spend more than half our day outside! We bring our circle time outside, we bring our writing activities outside, music, art, math, PE you name it- we will do it all outside!  The students love being outside as much as possible especially when the weather is nice and at Tiny Roots we feel our students learn best with the opportunity to be outside everyday!
